Kristine and Nick celebrated their nuptials with a very intimate group of friends and family, in the most romantic place I’ve ever ventured for work. A restaurant the provides the ultimate farm to table experience for lucky guests. People travel from all over just to dine at Primo Restaurant in Rockland, or so I’ve heard. I mean, it makes sense, I casually joked throughout the evening about traveling here for my own wedding one day. This place makes you want to max out your feelings of love for food and your people. I could feel it as I circled the room capturing moments between guest and K + N. Every corner of this space had my creative juices internally screaming with delight.
Also, I must note the quaint inn where Kristine and Nick shared their first look. The Berry Manor Inn has so much character. I enjoyed playing with window light and the fancy victorian era furniture in the earlier hours of the day.
Following their emotional first look, with bursts of laughter from Kristine (still my favorite first look to date….I’ve never seen someone SO joyful on their wedding day), Kristine and Nick exchanged vows at the Camden Amphitheatre. I remember googling this place when they first booked and showing images to family and friends exclaiming, ‘I get to photograph a wedding here!’ And after all these months of dreaming of what their day would be like, what the images would look like, well, it was even more beautiful than I could have imagined. Nestled close to Camden Harbor, K + N were shaded by elms and maple trees as they said ‘I do’. I still think of the moments of this day often.
I grew very fond of Kristine and Nick over the year leading up to their day. After several FaceTime calls and their engagement session in DC, Kristine and Nick began to feel like close friends. It’s on days like today, scrolling through these images again, that I actually miss them! So funny how this job can bring complete strangers into my life that leave such a warm impression.
I wanted to share some of Kristine’s words from a recent feature on Seattle Refined before I sign off. I re-read their love story all the time and it makes me laugh and cry simultaneously.
“I knew I never wanted to be without Nick when I stopped fantasizing about moving to Thailand to be a diving instructor and started thinking about what lawnmower I wanted to buy for a yard I didn’t even own yet. I was always so afraid to “put down roots” or get too comfortable with any one place or person for fear that it wouldn’t last. I think Nick had to tell me about 1,000 times that he wasn’t going anywhere (he always says “you’re stuck with me”), and one day I realized I believed him, and had for some time.”
