I've been in love with my other half for 14 years. We live a pretty normal life, in a quaint home in North Portland with our dog and two year old daughter. On days where I'm not working you can find me making a mess in the kitchen, testing out new recipes or getting lost in books. The introverted side of me enjoys evenings cozied up by our wood burning fireplace and trips to the coast or our family beach house at Hood Canal. The extroverted side of me comes out in my work, as I'm energized by capturing new families and couples in love.
I enjoy traveling and have been to 19 countries. I like the feeling of being lost in a new place, learning about new cultures and trying all sorts of ethnic street food. I also love being home; tending to my garden, working on home projects and spending time with our dog, laying in the grass. I think life is a balance of big adventures and little moments; both hold equal value.
I'm a huge empath, and feel moved by connection and friendship. I believe the most important aspect of being a great photographer is getting to know the people in front of my lens; genuine imagery will always be sourced from vulnerability and trust.

I believe that taking time to create connection with you and your partner, in addition to getting to know your loved ones, will always lead to genuine, one-of-a-kind imagery; imagery that truly means something to you. I'm not talking about forcing a friendship, but rather being curious and aware of the connection, human dynamic, personalities and the overall essence of what makes your day and your relationship uniquely yours. I enjoy using my people skills to connect and encourage when it feels appropriate, and a deep level of equanimity to observe when moments seem to be unfolding naturally. Every image should feel true to you and those who will cherish your wedding collection so I always aim for genuine storytelling, rather than posing or forcing interactions that don't feel real.
I care deeply about my clients and take pride in my role as a "cheerleader", trusted friend and artist on a wedding day. I am frequently pulled in for a hugs and thanked by guests who can see that I'm eager to create and be present at my weddings. I'm thrilled that my love for this art shows, and the warmth of my clients (and their loved ones) is what pushes me forward into my 13th season shooting weddings.
