This Jupiter Hotel elopement in Portland was inspired by minimalism. In covid times, people are downsizing for the sake of safety. Couples are also minimizing the wedding fluff (i.e. anything that doesn’t bring joy to their day). This has often been the result of more limited budgets and even more so, the realization that love is really the only thing required to celebrate your nuptials.

Sustainability was also on the forefront of this city elopement. There was a major emphasis put on either working with local companies, borrowing items, or collaborating with companies that promise local and ethical sourcing. From Miquela’s lipstick by Ilia to her florals by the talented Selva Floral, it was refreshing to work with a team who were both favorable and conscious of the work that needs to be done to move toward a cleaner and safer planet.

Miquela and Brett connected so easily and their love shines through in each interaction throughout this set of images. I personally think more couples should drop unwanted and redundant traditions if their hearts desire, celebrating in a way that reflects them honestly. I also think more people should eat pizza from Sizzle Pie because pizza…

Such a fun change of pace from my normal work and so inspired by everyone that contributed to this day.
