Beau Lodge in Bellingham meets all criteria for a dream venue. I’m bias but give me endless nature trails to explore with my couples and I’m happy. Plus the place has a quaint cabin with lots of natural light; prime for getting ready photos. The venue feels intimate and romantic, everything a wedding should be.
Uploading Madison and Brandon’s wedding gallery honestly made me feel sad to let these images go. Some of my favorite work was created this weekend and I truly credit it to M + B. I don’t like to say I have a specific client but naturally I do. My clients are the type to care about details, the ones that matter, but also not so much that it takes away from the most important reason why we celebrate nuptials.
My couples set aside a good amount of time to be in front of the camera so that we can play and find what works and what doesn’t. They may or may not be outgoing but they appreciate photos and are open to spending time creating imagery that will help them to relive their day.
My ideal client cares enough to read my vendor guide and wedding guide to see what advice might help make their day run a little smoother; not necessarily because I feel entitled to control their day but more so because I’m eager to help out however I can if they are seeking guidance. They are a client that connects with my imagery but also my heart, rather than my pricing or other offered services. They care to get to know me better, the same way I care so much about getting to know them. More than anything, they want me to be a part of their team leading up to their day. They like to share images of the venue, what they’ll be wearing, or ask advice about flowers. We chat about where the ceremony will be based upon light. They keep me in the loop because let’s be real, I’m not a show-up-and-shoot kinda gal. I want to be here every step of the way.
Madison and Brandon fit this mold perfectly and the warmth they showed me throughout their day fueled some really beautiful work that I am so eager to share with you.
Wedding Venue: Beau Lodge
Madison and Brandon chose to work with the talented Bergen of Fire and Blooms and oh my GOD, I’ve never seen flowers more beautiful. Is it weird that I want to frame some of the photos of Madison’s bouquet above my bed?
