I can meet you at a park and shoot for just an hour. That's definitely an option if you are limited on budget or uninterested in shooting for an extended period of time. But to be 100 percent transparent, most of the family sessions you see here are a result of families giving me a good chunk of their time. You can find me eating dinner with families, spending the first 30 minutes of our sessions just getting to know one another, rolling on the ground with the kids, feeding their chickens, making art with them.
Family dynamics are so unique and so sacred that sometimes I have to be invited in on a deeper level for a chance to really capture the true essence of a family. Family photos are an actual experience, or maybe an actual day in the life of and I'm just there, partaking in their day, camera by my side, waiting for moments to unfold naturally.
The reason these sessions work so well is because it takes the pressure off the kids to perform. No matter the age, I never really experience temper tantrums. Kids enjoy having a new guest there to play, and once they've had a chance to relax and get into their element, they forget why I am really there.
That's when the magic happens!

I offer my whole heart leading up to your day and on your day. I write timelines, connect you with vendors, do venue walkthroughs, location scouting, phone meetings. Whatever you need.
I use what I've learned and seen in this industry as a tool to create an experience and art that you will cherish for the rest of your life because taking care of my clients is what I do.
Your wedding photos should not only transport you back to your day but they should represent your best selves and reflect your heart and soul. It's never about me, it's about you.
Yes, I shoot a LOT of candid imagery.
But I also slow down and pose you too. Your gallery CAN be made up of close up images, far away images, smiling, laughing, posed, silly, serious images. Portraits, artistic imagery where we play with light and slow shutter. I like to cover a lot of ground. Don't be deceived by what you see on Instagram alone. Although I like to post a lot of candid work, I recognize that there are potentially other generations enjoying these images, and posed images with eye contact are important to include, especially during timeline events like family photos. That doesn't mean I won't get candids of your sweet family between shots, it just means that you'll get it all.
In the end, I'm always catering to my clients. If they seem to naturally fall into more editorial posing then I roll with that, occasionally encouraging them to laugh here and there so they have BOTH. If they enjoy being silly, I honor that while occasionally getting them to slow down and rock something slightly more vogue. If it doesn't feel like them, I don't do it. If you are interested in seeing a full gallery let me know.
I pretty much always have my camera up, ready to capture some moment that might be unfolding. I shoot very editorial, very lifestyle. Imagine a pic of your grandma enjoying a cocktail by the fireplace, the flower girls running through tall grass, artistic images of the band playing, or an image of you and your lover running into the sunset. I live to create art, I want to capture how it feels and create the kind of images you want to frame on walls, images that are specific to you and your lover and your wedding alone.
I don't have one standard shot that I do at a wedding, my couples are my muse and inspire something different every time. I have a more minimal and timeless edit, don't desaturate color, am cautious with contrast, and enjoy subtle warm shadows. For every black and white image you'll 99 percent of the time get the colored version too. If you don't (say 5 images out your whole gallery) it's nothing personal. Sometimes tricky lighting situations equal a not so great image that you'd often discard, B&W turns a tricky pic into pure art.
