Finally getting the chance to blog this intimate day and still feeling all the feels toward Caroline and Kevin. Within days of their wedding Caroline called to thank me for my involvement in the day, for my calming demeanor, for my attention to detail. Well duh Caroline :), the best couples get the best treatment! And within weeks of their sneak peek I received in the mail a custom leather camera strap with “Alexandra Celia” carved across its center. Ok, here comes my emotional self some of you may already know too well. My eyes watered up when I had fully analyzed my gift and then immediately strapped it onto one of my cameras. I have a double strap for weddings but for all other sessions I was just holding my camera as is (which can be quite uncomfortable and cause my hand muscles to cramp). Well, I use that beautiful strap all the time now and it reminds me of Caroline and Kevin and the gratitude they continue to show with this gift. Talk about a feel good job.
As photographers, we live to create strong relationships with our clients and care so much about creating the best possible final product for them. We don’t expect gifts. But phone calls, a note thanking us, any kind of feedback that lets us know that you are thrilled about the way we captured your day, well that means the world to us.
Caroline and Kevin. Thoughtful humans spreading the love with gifts and words of affirmation. They’ve been together for over two decades and rocked it so tough on their wedding day. An intimate ceremony in a private garden on the top of Queen Anne, with a harpist playing as they walked down the aisle…the same one that also harmonized their first dance. Dream day with these two incredibly kind, and madly in love humans. Sad they live in NYC but glad our paths have crossed. This job is too good to me.
